On a failed save, a creature takes 4d8 bludgeoning damage and is knocked prone. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw. The area can be up to 30 feet long, up to 10 feet wide, and up to 10 feet tall. You conjure up a wave of water that crashes down on an area within range. Since Create/Destroy Water can disperse a Fog Cloud, would this mean that Tidal Wave destroys it too? I was arguing with the other players because the DM had decided that Tidal Wave now can remove Fog Cloud. Is there more I'm missing from this where Fog Cloud can be dispersed by other spells than "Wind" based spells? It lasts for the duration or until a wind of moderate or greater speed (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses it. The sphere spreads around corners, and its area is heavily obscured. You create a 20-foot-radius sphere of fog centered on a point within range. You can speak, read, and write Common and Primordial.Hi I play Tritons (in D&D 5E) and they have this neat trait called Fog Cloud. Adapted to even the most extreme ocean depths, you have resistance to cold damage. They can understand the meaning of your words, though you have no special ability to understand them in return. You can communicate simple ideas with beasts that can breathe water. Aquatic beasts have an extraordinary affinity with your people. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells. ![]() Once you cast a spell with this trait, you can’t cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. ![]() Starting at 3rd level, you can cast Gust of Wind with it, and starting at 5th level, you can also cast Wall of Water with it. A child of the sea, you can call on the magic of elemental air and water. ![]() Your base walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a swimming speed of 30 feet. Tritons are slightly shorter than humans, averaging about 5 feet tall. As guardians of the darkest reaches of the sea, their culture pushes them toward order and benevolence. Tritons reach maturity around age 15 and can live up to 200 years. Your Strength, Constitution, and Charisma scores each increase by 1. Long-established guardians of the deep ocean floor, the noble tritons have gradually become increasingly active in the world above. Tritons guard the ocean depths, building small settlements beside deep trenches, portals to the elemental planes, and other dangerous spots far from the eyes of land-bound folk. The DM is free to modify that list for a campaign. The Player’s Handbook offers a list of languages to choose from. Your character can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character. Adapted to the frigid ocean depths, you have resistance to cold damage. It can understand your words, though you have no special ability to understand it in return. You can communicate simple ideas to any Beast, Elemental, or Monstrosity that has a swimming speed. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.
